Signage installed roughly three years ago that decreased the speed limit to 20 kilometres per hour on Westview Drive near its intersection with 15 Avenue in Bowden will be removed.

Bowden council voted unanimously at its Oct. 28 meeting to have the signage taken down.

The temporary speed reduction in the area from 50 km/h was put in effect for safety due to the presence of construction vehicle traffic at the south end of Westview Drive and 21 Street when new homes were being built as part of the Destination Greens development's first phase.

Since the construction is now finished, town staff recommended the speed limit signage be removed, allowing for traffic to again move at 50 km/h in the area.
