Mayor Mike Muzychka says overall, the provincial budget is pretty good for Olds.

Mayor Mike Muzychka says overall, the provincial budget is "positive from the Town of Olds' perspective."
The budget was brought down Thursday in Edmonton by Finance Minister Joe Ceci.
For one thing, the town anticipates receiving $148,000 more than expected. That includes $74,000 more from the provincial Municipal Sustainability Initiative (MSI) program and $34,000 more than anticipated in the Basic Municipal Transportation Grant.
The town is also expecting to receive an extra $40,000 from the federal gas tax program.
Muzychka says the MSI will be marginally higher this year: $75,000, compared to $73,000 in 2017.
He says it appears that grants for other things, like Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) and policing will remain the same as last year.
