RCMP are continuing to investigate an incident in which a 2006 Ford F250 was reported stolen outside an Olds business on July 15.

An injured suspect was found the next day. Charges are pending.

The day after the theft was reported, police were told that a single-vehicle rollover had occurred  north of Olds near Rge. Rd. 14 and Twp. Rd. 334.

"Upon arriving, officers determined that the collision was recent and fresh blood was observed where the driver had exited the vehicle.

"No occupants were located near the truck, which was determined to be the one stolen the previous day in Olds," an Olds RCMP news release says.

"As it was unknown if the driver had been picked up or fled on foot, one officer searched the roads and fields in the vicinity of the collision.
"After approximately an hour of searching, he located a disoriented male with a head injury walking through a field a few miles from the collision location."
The 33-year-old male suspect was transported to the hospital. His injuries were described as "non-life- threatening."
Staff Sgt. Jim MacDonald, the commanding officer of Olds RCMP, says in searching the area for more than an hour, the officer was "certainly exercising diligence to find the suspect."
"And it was fortunate that the officer did find him," he wrote in an email. "Otherwise the outcome may have been less than positive if he wasn't taken for immediate medical treatment."
