OLDS - Alberta Health Services (AHS) declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Olds Hospital and Care Centre Monday.

In it's weekly acute care outbreak update issued Tuesday, AHS reported an outbreak was declared on one unit at the hospital on Nov. 6

"Three patients tested positive for COVID-19," the update stated.

Outbreak control measures have been implemented on the affected unit, says AHS.

Any patient with symptoms, or who has tested positive for COVID-19, is isolated and treated in designated rooms.

As with all outbreaks, at-risk patients on the unit have been tested according to AHS guidelines. Contact tracing for patients and health-care workers potentially exposed to these individuals is ongoing.
