Seventy-seven Olds & District Chamber of Commerce customer service award nominations were received for 17 different businesses this year, a possible record, according to Business Awards Committee chair Murray Elliott.
In total, 29 people were nominated (in addition, one nominator named all employees at Fountain Tire).
The nominations, along with the names of monthly winners, were announced during the chamber's annual Business Beer and Blue Jeans event, held Sept. 11 at the Cow Palace.
Following are the names of those employees and their employers.
Rick Collins, B&M Home Hardware (monthly winner for July 2018); Brittany Gerlitz, Dr. Jared Ord's dental office (monthly winner for November 2017); and Roslyn Thiessen, TD Canada Trust.
Nominations were received for four Advanced Telecom workers: Cindy Smith (monthly winner for February 2018), Jemma Holland, Michelle Imbery (monthly winner for March 2018) and Jake Moffatt.
In addition to the one nomination for all Fountain Tire employees, three people who work there were nominated. They are: John Johnson, Ryan Reid and Terry Stevenson.
Two Hildebrand Motors employees were nominated: Carla Taylor and Kevin Rowland.
Other nominees were Mike Bayne of iLock & Key (monthly winner for April 2018) , Derrald Ulry of Olds Sign Shop, Leah Gardin of Pet Planet and Randy Smith of Motocar Automotive (Bumper to Bumper). Smith was the monthly winner for May 2018.
Nominations were received for four Preferred RX Pharmacy workers. They are: Tiffany Tse, Carol Shipley (monthly winner for August 2018) David Ruan and Abigail Alba.
Three people who work for Sim's Furniture were nominated: Lyle Blatz (monthly winner for June 2018) Joan Molitor and Joanne Prefontaine.
Also nominated were Greg McIntyre of Mountain View Power, Bryan Tolhurst of Sawatzky Auto Repair, Charlene Carlile of Char's Foot Therapy, and Zan Van Brunschot of the Little House of Wireless.
Two Westview Co-op gas bar employees -- Dale Hankins (monthly winner for December 2017) and Donald Malcolm (monthly winner for January 2018) -- were also nominated.
