OLDS — The Olds Pickleball Club held its third annual one-day fun tournament April 27 at the Community Learning Campus gym in Olds.
“We had a different format that we used this year as we ran a smaller tournament than last year. Airdrie also was hosting a tournament on the same day. We had 28 participants this year,” Mary Wilson, a tournament organizer wrote in an email.
Last year’s tournament attracted 45 participants.
“We ran a "ladder" style of format and every player played a total of 15 games to 11 points, each game,” Wilson wrote.
“We had 7 courts playing at once.”
When it was all over, four people emerged on top: Gordon McKinnon, Jaymie Read and Marie Snippa of Sundre; along with Jim Cowitz of Canmore.
“It was a really good day,” Wilson wrote.
