Olds firefighters have been congratulated for their help in fighting last spring's wildfire in Fort McMurray.

Recently, Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo deputy fire chief of training & recruitment Cranley Ryan and his wife Melonie Matthews-Ryan visited Olds Fire Department to thank firefighters for their assistance during the blaze.

They presented them with a plaque and thank-you card.

Members of Olds Fire Department were happy they had the opportunity to meet the deputy chief in person. They say they appreciate Ryan's visit, describing it as a "thoughtful gesture."
