Murray Ball, a former Olds town councillor, has passed away.
Ball passed on May 7. He was 76.
Born on Aug. 10, 1942, Murray James Ball was predeceased by his wife, Beverly Jane Baker Ball, sister Isabel Ball, granddaughters Christianne and Vanessa, as well as daughter-in-law Rosanne Hisey.
He is survived by his sons Lawrence, Stanley and Sheldon and their wives Marty, Collette and Deborah, as well as his sister Georgina Holden plus many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends.
Town officials say Ball served one term as councillor, between 2010 and 2013. After his time on council he served as a member of the Municipal Planning Commission until the early part of 2016.
A memorial and celebration of Ball's life will be held May 15 at 1 p.m. at the Southwood United Church in Calgary.
