Wondering what to do with your real or "live" Christmas tree, now that Christmas is over?

Town officials say those trees can be dropped off at the 49th Avenue Recycling Centre from Jan. 2-19. Olds Eco Site on 70th Avenue will not be accepting Christmas trees this year.

"We ask everyone to ensure all decorations have been removed, including tinsel, as trees will be chipped and recycled," a news release from director of operations Scott Chant says.

He notes this service is free.

Chant also notes that the Mountain View Regional Waste Management Commission will accept Christmas trees at the Didsbury landfill site from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday until Jan. 31, at no charge.

The Didsbury landfill site is located two kilometres northwest of Didsbury.
