Horizon School was evacuated for about an hour this past Wednesday after a compress bag was accidentally heated too long in a microwave, spreading fumes in the building.
Horizon School is an educational facility in Olds for students up to age 20 who have developmental difficulties.
"Our division safety manager responded to the incident and advised us to clear the school as a precaution. We also notified the fire department, who assessed the situation on-site and have given the all-clear," Chinook's Edge School Division communications officer Sandy Bexon says.
"The school was well-ventilated before students returned and we are providing additional monitoring to ensure there are no respiratory irritants from this."
