High River woman charged with assault

Members of the Olds RCMP detachment responded to an assault complaint at Tracks Pub last Thursday at about midnight. Upon their arrival, the members located a 19-year-old woman with visible injuries to her face. The assault took place inside the bar.

"As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old woman from High River was arrested and charged with assault,î said Cpl. Jay Peden, Olds RCMP.

She will make her first appearance in Didsbury court on Jan. 30.

Drug possession

On Friday, Dec. 30, Olds RCMP located a car that had been observed going at a high rate of speed on 50 Street. The car was parked in the west parking lot of Olds College.

"Through the process of investigation, the driver was investigated for impaired care and control of a motor vehicle,î said Peden.

The driver, a 19-year-old man from Airdrie, was found in possession of marijuana. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and was issued a 24-hour driving suspension. He will make his first appearance in Didsbury court on Feb. 13.
