Olds RCMP are investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 2 today (Wednesday, Aug. 1) about five kilometres south of the Highway 27 overpass.
Olds RCMP and the Innisfail Integrated Traffic Unit responded to the scene at about 11:15 a.m.
Police say a fuel truck and sport utility vehicle (SUV) collided in the southbound lanes.
The driver of the fuel truck was uninjured, but the driver of the SUV was airlifted to hospital by STARS air ambulance.
As a result of the collision, a detour for southbound traffic was set up. Highway 2 was reopened to traffic by late afternoon.
