The Olds Horseshoe Club is looking for new members.

They're urging Olds and district residents of all ages to come out to the horseshoe pits in Centennial Park Tuesday nights, starting at 6 p.m. (weather permitting).

Secretary-treasurer Sandra Jahn says currently the club has 14 members, but they'd like to boost that figure, especially since they're looking at hosting a tournament next year, likely the third week in June.

“It would be an open competition,” she says. “We could maybe get 100 people here.”

She says pitching horseshoes is fun and great exercise – even helps with weight control.

“I've only started this year and I've already lost three pounds and a couple of inches,” Jahn says.
