Hospital long service awards presented

Three retirees were recognized and long-term service awards were handed out to more than 30 other Olds Hospital and Care Centre employees during the facility's service awards and staff appreciation celebration.

Three retirees were recognized and long-term service awards were handed out to more than 30 other Olds Hospital and Care Centre employees during the facility's service awards and staff appreciation celebration.

In fact, employees were recognized for a total of 647 years of service.

Retirees were:

·        Eva Boffey, operating room technician (LPN)  – 45 years in Olds, 50 years of nursing.
·        Dianne Piller, lab/diagnostic imaging supervisor – 41 years of service.
·        Debby Crawford, acute care RN – 40 years of service.

Operating room employee Phyl Stromsmore was also recognized for 45 years of service.


Recognized for 30 years of service were Barb Chant, acute care; Shauna Demas, respiratory health information; Sylvia Harder, health information management; as well as  three operating room employees: Donna Scholer, Anne Lawes and Marjorie Breslawski.

Twenty-five-year recipients were Dr. Steven Turner and Corinne Clarke, lab/diagnostic imaging.

Receiving awards for 20 years of service were Angela Sandberg, recreation therapy; Melanie Robb, allied health; Kimberly Moore, medical device reprocessing; Tara Miller, operating room; and Joyce Arnold, long- term care.

Rewarded for 15 years of service were Angie Dowland, lab/diagnostic imaging; Jocelyne McIver, operating room; Roberta Chambers, long-term care; and Marina Lee, emergency department.

Among those receiving awards for 10 years of service were Patty Dowel, admitting; Wayne Krejci, site administrator (also the MC for the event); and Doris Skrocki, operating room.

The following staff in acute care also received 10-year awards: Hayley Bates, Melissa Benassi, Shianne Kendze, Lindsey Merrells, Lindsay Smitt and Lindsay Weigum.

Ten-year service awards also went to long-term care employees Wendy Clarke, Kathleen Cullen and Loraine Dziadek.
