OLDS - Holy Trinity Catholic School in Olds and St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Catholic School in Innisfail are open Monday but buses have been cancelled due to extreme cold weather.
Red Deer Regional Catholic Schools announced Monday morning that all rural bus services have been cancelled for Jan. 15, but schools are open.
Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for the entire province. A long period of extremely cold temperatures and wind chills continues today. Temperatures ranging from -30 C to -45 C, with wind chills between -40 C and -50 C persist this morning, Environment Canada noted in an update at 5:31 a.m. Monday. Wind chill values could even be a bit colder in open and exposed areas.
