Those projects include:

Acquisition of Horizon School for children with significant needs, the campground, eyeglass recycling, P.U.G. (Pick Up Garbage Day), support for the Royal Canadian Legion and the Salvation Army, as well as the Olds & District Kiwanis Music Festival.

Others include supporting the Christmas Angels, Henry's community Christmas dinner, the Lions Alberta Sight Services, the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), Central Alberta Science Fair, diabetes research, Canadian Cancer Society, the Ride For Sight, the Mountain View Food Bank, Meals on Wheels, the skateboard park, golf course shelters, and Habitat For Humanity.

He said the club also supports the Olds High School leadership club and  youth sports in the community.

In addition, Stevenson said the club provided more than $71,000 to furnish the Lions Den in Mount View Lodge.

He said the club also constructed the helipad for the Olds Hospital and Care Centre, managed the food concessions at the Olds arena, as well as the beer gardens.

Club members have organized an indoor rodeo and a pro rodeo as well and supported the local RV park.

Stevenson said the club is also working with the Town of Olds to establish a Lions memorial forest in the Olds cemetery to honour deceased Lions Club members for all of Alberta and northeastern British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.

He said local Lions Club members support the Lions Clubs International Foundation to provide disaster assistance in various areas of the world.
