An Olds resident has received a silver Duke of Edinburgh award.
The international award rewards youth for building skills to equip them for life and work.
Logan Wachtler received his award at Government House in Edmonton during a formal ceremony hosted Lt.-Gov. Lois Mitchell.
Wachtler qualified for that honour by completing six months' worth of a variety of requirements, including service to the community, acquisition of a new skill, participation in physical recreation, and embarking on an adventurous journey.
"This level of recognition means Logan has shown tremendous perseverance and commitment to developing skills that will help promote success in his future endeavours, and as a contributing citizen," a news release says.
