Police said an Olds man found dead behind a provincial building off of 50 Street on Feb. 10 had succumbed to cold temperatures.

Cpl. Jay Peden, a spokesman for the Olds RCMP, said police received a call at 6:48 a.m. about an unconscious man found by a member of the public behind the building where the Olds Community Health Centre is located.

Emergency medical services personnel were already on scene when police arrived and it was determined the man, who was in his 50s, was dead.

Peden said police do not consider the death suspicious and the RCMP's investigation into the matter has ended.

The provincial medical examiner is investigating, he added.

There was no indication alcohol was involved in the death, Peden said, and the man's family has been notified.
