Olds RCMP found a local man on Oct. 14 who had been missing since Oct. 1.
Last week police said Clayton Garrett Friedley, 28, had been officially declared missing after not being seen by family and friends for two weeks.
Olds RCMP Cpl. Jay Peden said his office was first contacted during the evening of Oct. 12 on Friedley's disappearance.
He said RCMP was informed Friedley was taking courses at Olds College.
“He attended a couple of classes but had not attended since,” said Peden, adding police also went to Friedley's residence but met with no luck ascertaining his whereabouts until his discovery on Oct. 14.
Continued trouble from Thursday party crowd
Local streets continue to be the hot venue for party people on Thursday evening and RCMP members are issuing tickets at an increasing pace.
On Thursday, Oct. 13 police issued five tickets to pedestrians for walking the streets with open liquor and one more for public urination.
“We find Thursday night college night at the bar. We see an increase in liquor as well as bylaw offences. It's pedestrian traffic for the most part transporting open beer cans and bottles to wherever they are heading,” said Olds RCMP Cpl. Jay Peden. “If we pull out our stats you will see a spike on Thursday nights for liquor offences.
“Thursday night is a busy night for us,” added the Mountie. “It is not as discreet as other times of the week.”
