OLDS — No charges were laid as a result of a single-vehicle rollover that resulted in a power outage that initially left more than 1,600 customers in Olds and area without power Tuesday.
RCMP Cpl. Gina Slaney told the Albertan that the rollover occurred on Range Road 13, about a mile north of Highway 27.
She said the lone occupant was not injured.
“(The) file was concluded with no charges,” Slaney wrote in an email.
Police say the collision occurred just before 4 p.m. on Sept. 10. FortisAlberta reported the outage started around 4:40 p.m. that day.
In Olds, traffic lights at Highway 2A and Highway 27 were affected, as well as all businesses in the Forty Six Square Plaza.
Peter Brodsky, manager of public affairs for FortisAlberta says the outage affected 1,631 customers.
He said power was restored to 1,482 customers by 5:35 p.m. Another 149 customers remained without power while a damaged cross-arm on the pole was replaced. Brodsky said power was restored to those remaining customers by 7:05 p.m.
