OLDS - Olds RCMP are advising of poor road conditions on Highway 2 between Red Deer and Airdrie.
"Travel is not recommended. Please stay home!" police said in a release issued around 6:30 p.m. Feb. 4.
As snow fell in the area throughout the day, RCMP advised travellers to drive with caution or postpone travel if possible.
At about 1:30 p.m. RCMP advised of poor and slippery road conditions, partly covered with snow on Highway 2 between Calgary and Olds.
About an hour later, the province's travel advisory service noted that a motor vehicle collision southbound on Highway 2 south of junction of Highway 27, east of Olds was blocking the lefthand lane.
The advisory service noted at 3:53 p.m. that the collision had been cleared but to expect delays due to volume and conditions.
