Olds Rural Crime Watch will be hosting a provincial Zone 2 (Central Alberta) meeting this Saturday, April 8, at the Cow Palace.

ORCW secretary-treasurer Judy Schlichenmayer says it will begin at 10 a.m. and is scheduled to go until about 4 p.m., but may end earlier than that. Thirty to 40 people are expected to attend.

She says it's a chance for all the crime watch associations in Central Alberta to discuss crime in general, what's happening as well as strategies to combat crime.

Schlichenmayer anticipates that issues like domestic violence will be discussed.

Also an update is expected to be given on efforts to set up an emergency shelter in Olds.
