OLDS - About 300 market operators, auctioneers, order buyers and industry partners are expected in Olds over the next couple of days for the Livestock Markets Association of Canada’s (LMAC) convention and a Canadian auctioneering championship.
Convention chairman Rick Wright said LMAC is very excited to host this year’s convention May 11 - 14 in central Alberta. It’s the organization’s first time hosting in Olds.
It also coincides with Olds Auction Mart’s 70th anniversary and Wright said the event will tie in nicely with the auction mart’s celebration.
“The Rosehill family, and their partner Patrick Cassidy, are strong supporters of LMAC. The Olds Auction Mart and their staff run a very professional business and LMAC is proud to showcase this popular auction market,” Wright said.
Over 40 auctioneers from across Canada are set to compete in the 2023 Canadian Livestock Auctioneering Championship being held on May 12. The auctioneering competition will be broadcast live on both the DLMS and TEAM marketing platforms and the competition is free for the public to attend.
Later on May 12, Olds Auction Mart will hold its 70th anniversary celebrations at the Cow Palace.
