A 37-year-old Olds woman is due in Didsbury Provincial Court July 30 after a high-speed motorcycle chase and crash in Bowden that occurred July 11 at about  2 a.m.

Police say the motorcycle was later determined to have been stolen in Calgary.

Sherri-Lynn Koch faces nine charges: possession of stolen property, failure to stop for police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to comply with a probation order, failure to remain at the scene of an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle on a highway, operating a motor vehicle without a subsisting driver's licence, operating an unregistered motor vehicle on a highway and displaying an unauthorized licence plate.

Koch was also found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Camrose.

It all began at about 2 a.m on July 11. While on patrol in Bowden, an Olds RCMP officer saw a woman on a motorcycle commit what police describe as "several traffic-related offences."

The officer tried to get her to stop, but police say she took off at "a high rate of speed" through Bowden, failing to stop at several intersections, before crashing while heading south on Highway 2A, still in Bowden.

RCMP arrived at the accident scene almost immediately, however Koch ran off.

She was tracked down nearby and arrested with the help of Red Deer Police Dog Services.

Koch was taken into police custody and received medical attention for a minor injury suffered during the collision.
