OLDS – A Mountain View County man and a Calgary woman are facing drug charges following a police operation to reduce drug impaired driving in the town of Olds.
RCMP Const. Lauren Mowbray said in a new release issued today that from July 18 to 20 Olds RCMP were working on a Controlled Drug and Substance Act operation that resulted in more than 43 grams of suspected methamphetamine being taken off the streets from several traffic stops.
Mowbray said Billyjack James Williams, 50, of Mountain View County, was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
She added Williams was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Olds RCMP. Williams appeared in Didsbury provincial court on July 25 on both matters.
Mowbray said Robin Lynne Strub, 34, of Calgary, was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with a probation order. Strub was released by a justice of the peace to appear in Didsbury provincial court on Aug. 22, said Mowbray.
She added charges are pending against an adult male for possession of a controlled substance and breach of conditions, and against an adult female for possession of a controlled substance and two counts of breach of a release order.
