Olds resident faces 10 drug-related charges

A 49-year-old Olds man appeared in provincial court in Calgary Jan. 22 facing 10 drug-related charges. Chris Long was arrested after a search warrant was executed in an Olds home on Jan. 21 just after midnight.

A 49-year-old Olds man appeared in provincial court in Calgary Jan. 22 facing 10 drug-related charges.

Chris Long was arrested after a search warrant was executed in an Olds home on Jan. 21 just after midnight.

Police say as a result of that search, they found “a quantity of illegal drugs.”

Long faces one count of trafficking in cocaine plus one charge each of possession of cocaine, meth, heroin, marijuana, and methylphenidate prescription pills for the purpose of trafficking.

He's also charged with possession of psilocybin mushrooms as well as possession of amphetamine, dihydromorphine and tetrahydrocannabinol pills.

The arrest was the result of an investigation involving Olds RCMP along with the ALERT (Alberta Law Enforcement Team) Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods group.
