OLDS — École Olds High School (ÉOHS) senior high leadership students are doing their bit for the people of Ukraine as they suffer through the Russian invasion.
They’ve organized “Perogies for Peace,” a fundraiser to be held Thursday, March 31 at the ÉOHS commons.
It will consist of a perogy supper, complete with perogies, smokie, salad and dessert. A raffle will also be held.
Sittings will be held at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Tickets must be purchased in advance (200 tickets are available for each sitting). Takeout will also be available. The cost is $25 for adults and $10 for children under 12.
Tickets are available at the ÉOHS office and Kolb's Meats.
Leadership students voiced the idea for Perogies for Peace during their Change Café, held earlier this month in the commons.
“All community members are invited to join us to enjoy a homemade perogy supper and support this great cause,” Louan Statchuk, a student leadership advisor, wrote in an email.
Statchuk noted that many local businesses are sponsoring the perogy supper.
