OLDS — This year’s Terry Fox Run in Olds was a very successful one, according to organizer Mike Lipiec.
Lipiec says a final count indicates that 85 people participated in the Sept. 15 run this year.
A total of $4,000 was raised for cancer research.
According to Terry Fox Foundation statistics, 2001 was the most successful run in the community.
That year, 51 participants raised $11,616 for cancer research.
The highest number of participants ever to take part so far was 205 in 2002.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual runs were undertaken in 2020 and 2021.
