Olds RCMP are investigating two incidents in which locks were cut off community mailboxes outside the community.

The latest incident occurred on July 9.

Olds RCMP received a report of locks being cut off a rural community mailbox on Rge. Rd. 10.

However, as of late last week, police had not yet confirmed if mail had been stolen as a result of that act.

On July 3, police received a report of locks and tabs being cut off a rural set of community mailboxes on Rge. Rd. 35 and Twp Rd. 344.

"One entire standing green mailbox was stolen from the scene and mail was stolen from other mailboxes," police say.

Meanwhile, on July 5 at about 1:20 p.m., Olds RCMP responded to a report of shoplifting at EB Games.

"An unknown male jumped over the counter while staff were busy, and stole a Playstation 4 game system from the shelf, then left the scene on foot," an RCMP news release says.

Those incidents were just part of a busy week for Olds RCMP during which they received and investigated 115 calls for service.

Those incidents included one allegation of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public, seven reports of suspicious people or vehicles and two reports of people uttering threats.

Police also dealt with two alleged assaults and one allegation of assault with a weapon or assault causing bodily harm.

They also responded to 16 collisions, five allegations of failing to report an accident or failure to remain at the scene of one, 17 traffic complaints, and three allegations of operating a motor vehicle while impaired.

Other calls included one break and enter, four calls regarding breach of the peace, and seven allegations of mischief to property or obstruction of the lawful use and enjoyment of property.

They also responded to three incidents involving the Family Relations Act, five bylaw complaints, one stolen bike, and seven false alarms.
