Two local businesses have received awards for their operations.
Ramada Olds has been designated as an Employer of Choice, by the Alberta Hotels and Lodging Association.
"The Employer of Choice designation is when the hotel has distinguished (itself) as a best practices leader in human resources, amongst other tourism employers, setting (itself) apart by ensuring the organization is doing the right things to create and sustain a productive and motivated workforce," a news release from Ramada Olds' parent company, Canalta Hotels, says.
"It's a real accomplishment for our hotel," Ramada Olds general manager Erin Wallace says. "This recognizes that we've worked really hard (to gain this award)."
Meanwhile, Torrock Towing has received a certificate congratulating the local company for having provided assistance to 25,000 Alberta Motor Association members.
Owner-operator Judy Schlichenmayer says that's a real feat for a company its size.
