Retirement homes donate to food bank

Both Seasons Retirement Communities in Olds -- Seasons Olds and Seasons Olds Encore -- have donated $2,000 each to the Mountain View Food Bank Society for a total of $4,000 to help tackle summer hunger. The donations were made on June 27.

Both Seasons Retirement Communities in Olds -- Seasons Olds and Seasons Olds Encore -- have donated $2,000 each to the Mountain View Food Bank Society for a total of $4,000 to help tackle summer hunger.

The donations were made on June 27.

"In years past, Seasons donated turkeys and hams to food banks during the holiday months," communications co-ordinator Jessica Rabaey says.

"Upon learning that food bank donations drastically decline over the summer, we decided to shift our corporate-giving efforts to help fight hunger at a time when donations are more urgently needed.

"We also want to use our platform in these communities to remind people that food banks need support year-round."
