OLDS — Several items in the Town Of Olds’ proposed capital budget are expected to face more scrutiny and possibly be dropped when council is scheduled to meet on Dec. 13.

The proposed 2022 capital budget was pegged at $4,466,500.

Items up for more discussion included painting the north reservoir ($140,000 to be paid for from reserves) and draining a pond at the cemetery ($125,000 to be paid for from a provincial Municipal Sustainability Initiative - MSI).

Several improvements to the Sportsplex were also on the list, all of which would be paid via the MSI.

They included upgrading the sound system, $10,000; painting the floor, $55,000; a play centre, $12,000; and a score clock, $35,000.

Also on the list was Centennial Park revitalization, projected to cost $250,000. It too would be paid for from the MSI grant.
