Some Central Alberta locales to get 10 to 30 cm of snow starting Tuesday

OLDS - Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Monday for the Airdrie - Cochrane - Olds - Sundre area advising of  a multi-day snowfall event starting Tuesday.

"Snow will begin Tuesday night along the northern foothills and progress southward on Wednesday. Snow will continue on Wednesday, eventually spreading eastward towards the Saskatchewan border on Thursday. Snow will end on Friday," the April 1 statement says.

For areas along the foothills and in the mountain parks, the federal agency says 10 to 30 centimetres (cm) are forecast. For areas east of Highway 2, five to 10 cm are expected.

No statement has been issued for the Red Deer - Ponoka - Innisfail - Stettler area.
