The last couple of weeks of August were busy ones for Olds RCMP as they received several complaints about thefts.

Vehicle thefts continue to be a real problem.

For example, on Aug. 28  at about 8 a.m., Olds RCMP received a report that a white 2000 Ford F250 had been stolen sometime overnight from 65th Avenue. Police say it was "secured" at the time the theft occurred.

The stolen vehicle has decals on it that say "Bulk Water J.C. Industries."

On Aug. 27 at about 1:50 a.m., Olds RCMP were told a white 2000 Ford F550 bucket truck had been stolen from a home on 24A Street in Bowden.

Police spotted that vehicle travelling south of Bowden on Highway 2A and tried to stop it, but the driver fled south on Highway 2A at what police call "a high rate of speed."

The truck was spotted later by Didsbury RCMP near Carstairs.

The suspect responsible for this theft is described as a male, thin build, average height, wearing a blue winter jacket with white collar and dark tuque.

On Aug. 25 at about 8 a.m., Olds RCMP received a complaint from employees at an Ember Resources facility near Torrington.

The suspects forced their way onto the property through a locked gate, locked buildings on site, and rummaged through property inside.

A Yamaha generator worth about $5,000 was stolen, along with two car batteries.

Olds RCMP and forensic services are continuing to investigate this incident.
