Organizers are deeming the recent fundraiser for the Airdrie and District Humane Society a success. About 50 people took part in either a two-kilometrre or four-kilometre walk around the Community Learning Campus late last month.
About $900 was raised for the humane society.
Another 25 people took part in various other activities hosted by the CLC Fitness Centre, such as a silent auction and dog agility demonstrations. About 60 to 70 dogs joined their masters on the walk around campus.
“It was very successful. I think that it showed the true character of our community and the support of our community and surrounding area for such a good cause. It really demonstrated the effort by the CLC Fitness Centre to be involved in the community and support the community and different organizations that really serve a vital purpose for our area,” said Brittany Ehmann, a programmer at the CLC Fitness Centre, adding that the CLC hopes to make it an annual event.
