Sundial Growers Inc., one of five medical marijuana companies setting up shop in Olds, held its first job fair May 23 at the Pomeroy Inn & Suites.
The event attracted more than 300 people, far more than the company expected, says Claire Buffone-Blair, who is responsible for communications and stakeholder relations at Sundial.
The event was hosted by Sundial's team responsible for people and talent. They met prospective employees from 1 to 8 p.m.
"It was a great success," Buffone-Blair says. "The response was overwhelming, as there were folks lined up outside before the doors even opened.
"Hundreds of onsite screening interviews were completed by Sundial recruiters. Sundial will be hiring qualified candidates in incremental stages as we ready our flagship facility in Olds for operation this summer."
