RCMP have identified the Calgary man who was arrested last month in connection to a break-in and theft at an Olds business.
On Aug. 11 police received a complaint of a burglary at the Little House of Wireless at 5414 46 St.
Nine days later Olds RCMP were notified that a 25-year-old Calgary man was arrested at a traffic stop in Turner Valley.
Police had stopped the man after receiving a report that he was driving erratically. Olds RCMP said last month the man allegedly was in possession of items stolen from the local store.
Turner Valley RCMP said police recovered more than $10,000 worth of stolen smartphones located within the vehicle operated by the man.
Police in Turner Valley said several of the stolen phones have been linked to recent thefts that occurred in Cranbrook, B.C., Sparwood, B.C. and Olds.
The matter is still under investigation.
Nikolas Andrew Jaciw, 25, of Calgary has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime with a value of over $5,000, possession of break-in instruments and four counts of failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking.
Jaciw made his first appearance in Okotoks provincial court on Aug. 23.
Meanwhile, Olds RCMP said last month that around the time of the break-in at Little House of Wireless they received complaints of other burglaries in the area. However, police can't say at this time whether there is a connection to the one at Little House of Wireless.
