As the school year begins again in Olds, three new teachers have been hired in local schools in the Chinook's Edge School Division (CESD).

They are: Jennifer Jackson at École Olds Elementary School (OES), Greg Matthew at École Deer Meadow School (EDMS) and Bailey Sisson at Olds High School (OHS).

In total, 98 teachers will be working in CESD schools in Olds and area this year. That includes 28 at OES,
22 at EDMS, 29 at OHS, 17 at Olds Koinonia, and two at Olds Career High.

Officials say 98 is on par with local CESD teaching staff in previous years.

Lissa Steele, who serves as associate superintendent of learning services for Chinook's Edge School Division, says it's too early to say what enrolment will be in Olds CESD schools.

She says the division will have a clearer idea in mid or late September.

A look at Holy Trinity Catholic School, part of Red Deer Regional Catholic Schools, will be provided in a later edition of the Albertan.
