OLDS — Olds RCMP detachment commander Staff Sgt. Warren Wright is hosting three community town halls in Mountain View County, Bowden and Olds this week.

Residents who have comments and/or concerns about policing issues are invited to attend.

The first town hall in the series was held on Jan. 23 in Mountain View County (Division 7) at the East Olds Baptist Church.

It was hosted by Olds RCMP as well as Didsbury RCMP, Mountain View County Patrol and Chinook Arch Victim Services.

The second town hall is scheduled for Jan. 24 between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Bowden Friendship Club.

It will be hosted by Olds RCMP along with Red Deer County Patrol and Chinook Arch Victim Services.

The final meeting in the series will be held Jan. 25, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Evergreen Centre in Olds.

It will be hosted by Olds RCMP, Olds Municipal Enforcement and Chinook Arch Victim Services.

"Although we regularly meet with elected officials and administration, town halls are a way of connecting with the residents themselves," Wright wrote in an email to the Albertan.

"Regular community engagement is important to ensure that the RCMP and law enforcement partners have an understanding of the communities' policing priorities, based their concerns with public safety and crime."
