The Splash Park in Olds is closed indefinitely while officials try to find the cause of what they describe as an “operating system failure.”

Monica Leatherdale, the town's communications coordinator, says it's too early to know when the the Olds Splash Park may be reopened.

The facility, located in Centennial Park, is closed indefinitely. The closure began on June 19 "due to an operating system (tank) failure," Leatherdale wrote in an email to the Albertan.

"The town is working in consultation with the splash park supplier to determine the next steps," she added. "We thank all residents and visitors to the Town of Olds for their patience and understanding as we work to understand and determine the next steps."

Back in April 2016, the splash park was closed while Park N Play, the company that built it, re-poured the concrete pad to fix drainage issues.

The splash park officially opened in July 2015.
