In response to the O-NET article printed in the Olds Albertan on Nov. 17, 2015: Congratulations to the O-NET team and the Town of Olds for having achieved such success.

Bill 6 has passed third and final reading in the legislature and the honey badgers from both the left and the right will soon have to find something else to get nasty about.

I love the holiday season. The hustle and bustle, Christmas carols, lights, shopping (who doesn't love shopping), leave me filled with happiness and Christmas spirit.

After reading, and listening, to some of the reaction to Bill 6 (the Enhanced Protection for Farm and Ranch Workers Act) there are a couple of thoughts that I would like to share.

As a contractor who makes frequent use of waste disposal facilities, I was happy to see that the Olds Eco Site would continue to operate. Convenience is good.

The farm is an inherently hazardous workplace. Animals are unpredictable, diligence is critical around machinery and mechanized equipment, and workdays are long and labour intensive.

There's no doubt town officials should make every effort to communicate proposals, plans and projects with the community.
