PENHOLD - Penhold and area residents will have the opportunity in upcoming weeks to become more informed about peace officer, police and firefighter activity in the area.

The Innisfail RCMP, in collaboration with the Town of Penhold, is inviting the community to a town hall meeting on Oct. 9.

“Town halls have been an excellent way of not only sharing our information with the community but also receiving that first-hand feedback from the community," said Innisfail RCMP Staff Sgt. Ian Ihme in a prepared statement issued Tuesday. “The Innisfail RCMP is committed to citizen engagement and in forming strong partnerships with the community.”

The town hall is expected to kick off at 6:30 p.m. in the Penhold Library in the multiplex.

There will be presentations on RCMP policing priorities and crime stats as well as an update on the new regional victim services model.

Presentations dealing with the community peace officer and Penhold Citizens on Patrol programs are also planned along with information from the Penhold Fire Department.

An open mic session is planned for citizens to ask questions regarding any of the aforementioned program areas.
