PENHOLD – The RCMP and the Town of Penhold is seeking the public’s help to find the culprits who committed extensive vandalism on a community peace officer’s cruiser.
The vandalism occurred at about 1 a.m. on Nov. 21.
In a news release issued on Dec. 2 the town said the vehicle was substantially damaged when four suspects -- three males and one female -- gained access to the inside of a locked compound.
Once inside the compound, the suspects smashed the cruiser windows and stole numerous items from inside the locked vehicle, including a Stalker II handheld radar - model number AS009377, tuning forks - serial number FA199759 and FB303258, black duty bag, a black side seat organizer and contents.
The suspects also broke into the trunk of the cruiser and stole all the emergency equipment.
Penhold peace officers believe one of the suspects has committed different offences around Central Alberta wearing a Penhold peace officer uniform jacket /vest.
When the suspects were last seen they were driving a dark 2013-2017 model Jeep Cherokee, with six headlights and a silver/chrome roof rack.
The town and RCMP caution citizens that if they see the suspects to not approach them. Citizens can contact the nearest RCMP detachment, and quote file number 2019-1772232.
