4-H Club members preparing for show and sale

The Sundre 4-H Multi Club is having a great year so far. We have 21 members and three cleaver members that have projects in beef, sheep, horse as well as cooking. This year is also an exciting year because it is the 100th birthday for 4-H Alberta.

The Sundre 4-H Multi Club is having a great year so far.

We have 21 members and three cleaver members that have projects in beef, sheep, horse as well as cooking. This year is also an exciting year because it is the 100th birthday for 4-H Alberta.

So far this year, members of our club have donated their time to some very worthy causes. In October, for example, we helped out at the James River Hall Beef Supper. Additionally, we volunteered at the Sundre Hospital Fundraiser Gala in November, when we helped out with serving the food and did a lot of dishes after we cleaned tables. In November, we also went around town and collected about 1,500 pounds of food for Sundre Santas.

Club activities are starting to pick up now that we are past the holidays. The club started the new year with club multi judging at the James River Hall. In February, we held our club public speaking competition and the winners from that then moved on to areas at the Eagle Hill Hall. Congratulations to everyone who moved on to participate in districts, which were held on March 4.

The beef and sheep members will be working hard to prepare their project animals for our upcoming show and sale on May 29 at the Sundre Arena. Beef members have had their project animals since weigh-in day at the beginning of November, and sheep members will be getting their project animals soon. Beef members will also be participating in a mock achievement day at the end of March to practise for the show and sale.

We would like to express our gratitude to all of the sponsors and supporters who help us throughout the club's year, as we would not be where we are today without them!
