About 20 professional hunting outfitters with the African Hunting Events show visited the Sundre Museum and Chester Mjolsness World of Wildlife Exhibit on Jan. 20.

Some of the hunters, who are from Namibia and other parts of Africa, have hunted with Mjolsness before.

They are in the area to put on a show in Edmonton and one in Calgary this month.

ìThey are here to book hunters to come to their profession, to their place,î said taxidermist Povl Munksgaand, who helped create the wildlife exhibit that now forms part of the museum.

The group of hunters were amazed by the exhibit and happy to be in Sundre.

ìThese people are all my exhibitors who come across from Africa to exhibit and mock themselves to the Canadian hunters,î explained Birgit Johnstone, African Hunting Events show organizer.

The shows are held annually and they provide an opportunity to discuss hunting opportunities available in Africa with hunting outfitters around the world, she said.
