Sundre residents are again being asked to remove birdfeeders from their yards after a black bear and three cubs came into town last week. Sundre Fish and Wildlife officer Mark Hoskin says as well as the feeders, residents who have apple trees should be picking up any fallen fruit and should remove apples from their trees. Also, garbage and recycling bins should be kept in a garage or shed until the day of pickup, he said. Anyone spotting a bear in town should immediately call the 1-800-642-3800 hotline, he said. More information on bear awareness and how to avoid encounters is available at the Mountain View BearSmart website.
