The driver of a motorhome involved in a head-on collision with a semi truck near Sundre on Oct. 3 remains in hospital, as of Friday.
The collision occurred about one mile east of town on Highway 27, when the driver of the motorhome veered into the oncoming lane and collided with the semi truck.
“There will be no charges at this time and the cause of the collision is and will remain undetermined,” said Sundre RCMP Const. Matt Floyd on Friday.
“The driver advised that he lost the steering of his vehicle, but we have no means of confirming or disproving the statement.”
The drivers, both male, were the only occupants in each vehicle. The operator of the motorhome is from Calgary and the operator of the semi truck resides in Sundre.
The motorhome tipped on its passenger side and went up in flames, after colliding with the semi. After members of the Sundre Fire Department extinguished the flames, the motorhome was unrecognizable.
The operator of the motorhome was transported to hospital from the scene. The driver of the semi truck did not suffer from any injuries.
