Sundre RCMP officers arrested and charged a 43-year-old Sundre man on Sept. 6, after finding marijuana and drug related paraphernalia at his residence in Sundre.
Cpl. Ryan Hodge declined to release the amount of seized marijuana and cash, but according to Michelle Davis with Alberta court services, the amount was not exceeding three kilos.
According to Const. Morley Statchuk, Brad Lenz has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, trafficking and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, he said.
Hodge reported that the weapon Lenz was charged with was bear spray. Officers also seized an imitation handgun.
They executed a search warrant for the residence located in the northwest part of town, after receiving tips from members of the public, according to Statchuk.
Lenz attended his first court date on Sept. 9 in Didsbury. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 21.
Officers are continuing to investigate drug trafficking within the Sundre area and are asking for anyone with information regarding drug trafficking to call the detachment at 403-638-3675 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
