A local man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death in connection to the fatal single-vehicle crash north of Sundre early last summer.

On Oct. 10 Sundre RCMP announced that Brendon Chase Wild, 24, was charged with one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm along with the death driving count.

He is scheduled to appear in Didsbury provincial court on Nov. 26.

The June 23 single vehicle rollover occurred shortly after 7 p.m. on Highway 587 near Rge. Rd. 5.1. Sundre RCMP said a Nissan 350Z crossed the centre line and rolled into a ditch.

Police said 19-year-old Amanda Kerrie Harlos, of Red Deer, was killed in the crash. The driver and a 21-year-old female passenger were taken to hospital, treated, and later released.

RCMP said at the time road conditions were wet and that speed was believed to be a factor. Alcohol was not involved, added police.

At the time of the crash, Harlos had recently graduated from the Tourism and Hospitality Program at Red Deer College.
