After 13 years of fulfilling the role of principal at Sundre High School, Jason Drent is handing over the position.
He has accepted the position of principal at Ecole John Wilson Elementary School in Innisfail effective the 2014-2015 school year.
Being extremely passionate about Sundre High School and its students, Drent said it has been an emotional decision to make.
Scott Saunders, who is currently the vice-principal at the high school, will be taking over the position in September. He is currently interviewing people for the vice-principal position.
“It's going to be pretty tough because it's been an amazing 13 years here in Sundre,” said Drent.
“I got to meet some pretty amazing people and had the opportunity to work with some pretty amazing kids and so it's going to be pretty emotional.”
